但是我所知道的of一般是放在两个词之间来表示从属关系,比如 status of liberty
可是这里的of却是单独出现的,对于这种用法以前没有接触过,哪位高人能从语法或是为什么要这样用的方面来帮我解释一下～感激不尽～

如果从使用上简单的去理解的话，BE动词+OF+名词，表示名词的形容词意思。比如说这里说的 be of some interest to nonsientists,就表示非科学研究者感兴趣的，isn't of munch real value to researchers表示对研究者没有太大价值的。

此处的of意为“属于（具有）......特性（品质）”
